6 (who?)
Stuck Up Libertarians: View themselves as better then everyone else. Don't understand what they read, simply regurgitate factoids.  They can be found throughout college dorms overly using the word "statist" as a political meme.  Spoiled brats who got everything in life and dont know what it is to be on welfare, foodstamps, hardtimes. Lack any empiricism and think because they are in college they are special. Typically they are racist, or atleast extremely prejudice(in an ignorant kind of way) make comments like "if a person can be smarter then a person, then why can't a race be smarter then another race.' They still engage in teenage existentialism, while they worship academia.  Claim to love murray but promote Nihilism. They hate religion, love abortion.  Possibly are liberals who find liberalism to be "to mainstream." These types are constantly trying to gain approval from the left, while simultaneously regarding them as "peons."  Lack any real philosophical value in anything they say.

Idiot Pot Smoking Libertarians:  Next to the stuck up libertarian, the pot smoking libertarian is the cliche many view the libertarian as.  Will vote for anyone who will legalize pot.  They called Ralph Nader cool in 2000 because he promoted legalizing marijuana.  Don't understand what libertarianism is, just want to smoke weed while blaming everyone else for their drug induced lazyness.

Hippyish Pot Smoking Libertarians: just want to smoke pot and be left alone.  These types can be very crafty, especially if they grow weed. They Usually are spiritual, but also can just be agnostic. Their non-interventionist, anti-authoritarian personalities make them good candidates for the philosophy.

Beer Drinking Libertarians: Love guns and hate authoritarianism. Work hard, take chances, pragmatic individuals who can also kick ass. Usually right of center.

Leftist Libertarians: Libertarian with leftist morales that do not interfere with the scope of Libertarianism.

Conspiracy Libertarians: Libertarians who believe in conspiracy theories.  Not to be confused with the liberal conspiracy theorists who think everything is a conspiracy and "aliens and the evil republicans" were behind it. Those types can be found at

Combination Libertarians: someone like :iconrobertqualls27:

Christian Libertarians: Christians who advocate for libertarianism while truly believing in religious freedoms and don't force others to live by their values, but may promote them.

Centrist Libertarians: Someone like John Stossel. May not have always been libertarian but pick it up fast and actually try to understand it.

Glenn Beck Libertarians: Have absolutely no idea what libertarianism is, constantly contradict themselves, and are typically pieces of shit. Jumped on the libertarian bandwagon with the bill mahers.  Claim Alex Jones is a nutjob, then a few days later when Glenn Beck steals material from Alex Jones they claim that information as "genius" "information you can't get anywhere else."

Confused Libertarians: Bill Maher....

Ron Paul Libertarians: May not understand libertarianism completely, they just know they like what they hear. Typically live busy lives with friends but do not shy from politics.

Promotional Libertarians: Radio show hosts, political organizers, activists, multi-media pushers.

Inteligencia libertarians: Mises,Murray,Ron.....
I am sure I missed a view, but here is my list. =

Clarification #1: I think it is say to safe that most of us, if not all of us started off as Ron paul libertarians. When you first heard ron paul speak did you immediately understand libertarianism? Or did you then begin researching and trying to understand it. It's probably why so many of us regard Ron so highly, not just because of what he does but he was the one who knocked us out of our political stupor.

In my opinion the only true masters of the libertarian craft is the Inteligencia libertarians because they have mastered all aspects of libertarianism. I am very obviously not one of these.

Clarification #2: In 2000 I was one of those idiots who wanted Ralph Nader to win simply because "he's the weed guy." I was never a "rasta" and I never painted myself with marijuana culture, so I may have been an idiot, but not that kind of idiot. Don't take it personal.

I think the ones about the Glenn Beck and Ron Paul types fit.

Yeah, but I should have made a part for 'heavily politically active Ron Paul libertarians.'  I may have given the impression those who like Ron Paul are automatically not active in politics when they are some of the most active and knowledgeable.

Active yes. Knowledgeable? That's debatable.
FlipswitchMANDERING Featured By Owner Jun 12, 2014
Then what group would be considered more knowledgeable on average? Progressives? Neocons? Socialists....

yeah right.

Your opinions on Glenn Beck and Ron Paul match my own.

I think that covers pretty much everyone on the bottom of my map.

If mises, ron, murray are at the bottom you must know alien libertarians.

There are the ones that have this very naive attitude toward the market and privatization. Claim to be libertarian, but deep down they're closer to anarchists.

I don't think the minarchists of the libertarian base are a bad thing, personally.
